As the snow slowly starts to melt away and the warmer weather begins to tease us with early hints of spring, it’s hard for us not to daydream of our upcoming events and the trends that we’re hoping to see at the Tannenbaum this year. For those brides that may not have all the details of their big day locked down quite yet, we’ve narrowed down our list of favorite things to just a few!
The runway is filled with them this year, bridal gowns cropped into two separate pieces, and we cannot get enough of them! Nothing screams “I’m a laid back bride” quite like this particular style. It’s the perfect unexpected twist that keeps your personal style on trend and away from the traditional ball gown.
Elaborate, funky and colorful are easily the best way to describe these fabulous and decadent delights. Incorporate your wedding color scheme into the design, or leave the décor more neutral, either way, the outrageous designs are easily our favorite aspect of these stylish cakes. Top with bold blooms, macarons, chocolate pieces and essentially anything you can think of. We are absolutely drooling at the thought of seeing one of these creations at the Tannenbaum this spring.
While rumor has it that flower crowns are on the wayside this spring, we’re still hoping to catch one on a pup! Have you ever seen anything more adorable?
The traditional sit down reception dinner is well, just that… traditional. Cocktail parties are being held near and far this year and we certainly hope that this is a trend to stay! Small bites are passed throughout your party all night long, offering guests plenty to eat so they are constantly entertained with the newest hor d’oeuvre. Not only do you have unlimited cuisine options with this kind of party, but you are able to cut back on the number of tables, chairs, linens and centerpieces needed as well. Hellooooo money saver!
The ever-growing trend of environmental and social awareness has many realizing that diamonds maybe aren’t a girl’s only best friend. Options range from morganite to sapphire to opal and even amythest. A little pop of color in your engagement is the perfect way to show off your personality.
When Dani and Dominic decided to host their dream wedding at Tannenbaum, we immediately felt the pressure! As a fellow member in the hospitality industry, Dani knew her stuff and knew exactly what she wanted. With the combination of her expertise, as well as our own, the challenge to create a fabulous and unique event was easily met over the course of a year. Her soft and romantic color palette complimented the lush greenery that our venue provided. Every carefully planned detail of the day was flawlessly executed to reveal the love between Dani and Dominic.
Looking for something to fill up your tables while still fitting within your budget? The answer is simple and green – garlands. Ultimately, there are no rules when it comes to these beauties, which allows for much flexibility.
Hang them from the ceiling above tables or let them drape off the sides all the way to the floor. Stuff them with a few flowers to give them a fuller look or keep them simple while paired with candles for an illuminating glow.
No matter which way you choose to style your garland, we're hoping to see many of these up at Tannenbaum this summer!
Summer is finally here which means a whole new season of blooming buds! We’re just chomping at bit waiting to see what stunning bouquets our brides have designed with their florists. For brides who are still a little stumped on what they want or for those who just love gawking at gorgeous flowers as much as we do, take a peek at our 5 of our favorite bouquets, perfect for summer.
As a venue host to many weddings, Tannenbaum sees every kind of favor imaginable. However, we have found that the factors key to a unique favor are really quite simple.
1. It should be something special to you.
2. It should capture something specific about you as a couple.
3. It should hold meaning for your guests.
If you can’t conceptualize an idea that captures you, then skip the favor altogether and put the money towards something that will have a bigger effect on your reception.
For the cyclists, a bike shaped bottle opener. For the environmentalists, a seedling for guests to plant in their yards. For the chefs, a custom spice mix to please your palate.
Oftentimes when we ask our clients to fill us in on their wedding day vision we’re met with an “I don’t know yet.” Not everyone has been planning their dream wedding on Pinterest over the last few years and that’s okay. It’s what we’re here to help with.
The most important thing to remember when choosing the décor for your wedding is that you need to be true to yourself and your tastes. Your friends and family want to go to your wedding. Not that wedding you saw on The Knot.
Take a quick look around your house or through your closet. What do the items you see say about you? If your wardrobe is straight out of the pages of Vogue it probably doesn’t make sense for you to have a barn wedding. Stick close to your personal style.
Keep your guests in mind. You know your friends and family very well. Pick something that’s going to make them feel comfortable as well as keep you comfortable too. Those mismatched vintage chairs might look cool but will your guests enjoy sitting through two hours of dinner in them?
If you’re still coming short on ideas, be sure to ask one of our helpful staff for some input to help make your dream wedding come to life!
Party season is upon us and it’s nearly time to update our closets for the year’s various festivities. Between Thanksgiving, Christmas, & New Year’s it can be a challenge not splurge on a different outfit for each occasion. But for the budget savvy fashionista there’s an obvious answer: the two-dress rule. By pairing together different elements with two dresses, you can create several different looks.
The Little Black Dress
Embrace the year’s trendy lace inserts or opt for a more dramatic dress with cutouts. Wear the alluring look to a cocktail party and then cover up with a cropped blazer to attend the annual office party.
Bonus wear: a large statement necklace or belt and moto-jacket will allow you to rock the same outfit with a different approach.
Shimmer & Shine
Play up the sequin look by wearing the dress alone or soften it up by pairing with black tights and black wedge booties.
Bonus wear: slap a vintage sweater on top to keep a chic look for the inevitable ugly sweater invite.
Imagine the stress and complication of trying to plan your dream wedding from Korea while you move to Turkey just two days after your reception. With monumental life moments happening on three different continents, Tannenbaum handled every detail to make their wedding day as stress free as possible. Kelly & Joey had a beautiful outdoor ceremony with a lunch reception to follow. By GoPro-ing the whole event, they were able to globalize the biggest day of their lives to ensure that not a single person was missing out.
When you allow the designers and planners at Tannenbaum take over, the results certainly speak for themselves! Congratulations again to the Mr. & Mrs. Magnor!

When Halloween gets mixed in with the tail end of wedding season, it’s hard not to start daydreaming about the all of the fun possibilities a Halloween wedding could hold. Potential themes can range from a classic costume party to a sexy masquerade straight out of a ghostly movie.
Sophisticated décor kept dramatic with dark colors and lacey fabrics, can easily be softened with candlelight inside of lanterns. Ideas for snacks and treats can stretch as far as the imagination can go. A candy bar is the perfect place to let your guests go “trick-or-treating” while drinks can be made to match the evening with garnishes and themed names.
